Honey Citrus Nectarine Sorbet

This naturally sweetened Honey Citrus Nectarine Sorbet is bright, refreshing, and incredibly easy to make. Frozen nectarines create a creamy, scoopable texture without any dairy, while fresh orange, lemon juice, and honey add the perfect balance of sweetness and citrus. Chia seeds provide a little boost of fiber and omega-3s, making this a wholesome frozen treat the whole family can enjoy.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups frozen yellow nectarine, diced (about 3-4 ripe nectarines)
  • 1/2 medium orange, peeled and segmented
  • 1–2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp honey (or more to taste)
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds

Instructions:

  1. Add frozen nectarines, orange segments, lemon juice, honey, and chia seeds to a food processor.
  2. Blend until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed. If your food processor struggles, let the nectarines sit at room temperature for 3–5 minutes before blending.
  3. Taste and adjust with a little more honey or lemon juice if desired.
  4. Enjoy immediately for a soft-serve consistency, or transfer to a freezer-safe container and freeze for 1–2 hours for a firmer, scoopable sorbet.

Storage:

  • Store in an airtight freezer-safe container for up to 2 weeks. If the sorbet becomes too firm, let it sit on the counter for 10–15 minutes before scooping.

Tips:

  • Use ripe, sweet nectarines for the best flavor.
  • Freeze nectarine chunks in a single layer before storing in freezer bags to make blending easier.
  • A high-powered food processor works best for a creamy texture.
  • Garnish with fresh nectarine slices, orange zest, mint leaves, or an extra sprinkle of chia seeds before serving.
